Sr. Front End Developer
On behalf of our client, Procom is seeking a Sr. Front End Developer for a Permanent opportunity in Markham ON, in a hybrid work capacity. Sr. Front End Developer - Job Details Define front-end architectures and lead implementation of user experiences Serve as a front-end expert on different projects, providing technical guidance and mentorship. Architect modular, reusable, and accessible UI components and maintain efficient, secure, and testable code adhering to best practices. Lead end-to-end software delivery: planning, design, development, testing, and deployment Mentor team members to foster technical growth and engineering excellence Optimize performance and scalability through thoughtful refactoring and modern tooling. Conduct regular code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Act as a subject matter expert in front-end technologies and advocate for innovation Engage in Agile processes, including daily standups, retrospectives, and demos Stay current with technological trends to guide product and development strategy Deliver world class web experiences for sellers utilizing modern web technologies while maintaining high quality, reusability, performance and other front end standard methodologies. Collaborate with backend engineers to build integrated, full-stack solutions when needed, while maintaining a focus on frontend technologies. Read, acknowledge, and comply with all policies and procedures of the business. Attend privacy and security training during the onboarding process as well as annually thereafter. Any employee who becomes aware of an incident or potential incident that may result in the unauthorized access, use, copying, alteration, or disclosure of personal information that may be in the possession or control of the business, must immediately notify the Privacy Office. This position is based in Markham, Ontario and follows a hybrid work model—minimum 00% in-office presence per month
Sr. Front End Developer - Mandatory Skills 7+ years of professional experience in front-end development. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field, and/or relevant experience. Proficient in JavaScript (ES6+) concepts of scopes, prototype inheritance, closures, promises, async and await, shared memory etc. Experience with trans pilers, package management, build tools and modules. Solid CSS3 skills including layouts, media-queries, responsive design, gradients, transitions, positioning, flex, box models, floating and block elements, inlining, preprocessors etc. Hands on frontend testing skills using frameworks such as Vitest or Jest, use of mocks/spies/stubs, visual regression, code coverage and CI/CD integrations. Demonstrated experience writing UI tests (unit, integration, and acceptance) Experience in developing and managing robust component libraries, including proficiency with Storybook for documentation, testing, and showcasing components. Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 or later) and inclusive design practices, coupled with a strong commitment to delivering pixel-perfect, high-quality work. Deep understanding and hands-on experience with accessibility standards (a11y) and best practices. Proficiency in internationalization (i18n) and localization (l10n) strategies for multi-language and multi-region support. Have experience implementing designs and collaborating with designers using tools like Figma. Experience working with TypeScript. Solid understanding of performance, responsive design, and cross-browser compatibility Knowledge of RESTful APIs and responsive web design principles Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
