The Manager will focus on process optimization, reporting and analytics, and strategic business development while also building and managing a targeted pipeline of acquisition opportunities. This is a high-impact role with direct involvement in strategic and investment decisions, offering the opportunity to work within a lean, fast-paced, and entrepreneurial environment.
Ideal Candidate Background:
We’re excited to hear from professionals with 4–7 years of progressive experience in one or more of the following areas:
Outbound SaaS Sales
Sales Operations / Revenue Operations
Growth / Go-to-Market (early or growth-stage, or sponsor-backed)
Chief of Staff / Strategy (early or growth-stage, or sponsor-backed)
Corporate Development (with significant sourcing responsibilities)
A successful candidate will have demonstrated strength in analytics, communication, interpersonal skills, and a process-driven approach to improving individual and team performance in sales or business development environments.
Experience in M&A, Private Equity, Venture Capital, or Investment Banking is a plus, though not required.
Core Responsibilities:
Direct Business Development
Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders at software companies aligned with strategic goals.
Conduct prospecting campaigns via LinkedIn, email, phone, trade shows, and in-person meetings.
Manage relationships from initial contact through to deal closure in collaboration with the M&A execution team.
People & Team Development
Lead recruitment efforts for the Business Development team.
Design and maintain onboarding, training, and development programs.
Coach team members while promoting a high-performance, collaborative culture.
Process Optimization
Monitor business development operations and provide feedback on outreach, messaging, and pipeline prioritization.
Identify and implement new tools and technologies to enhance sourcing effectiveness.
Analyze and improve existing internal processes and workflows.
Data, Reporting & Insights
Build and maintain dashboards and reports to track KPIs, team performance, and pipeline activity.
Share data-driven insights and updates with leadership to support strategic decision-making.
Deliver regular performance and pipeline updates to senior stakeholders.
Market Research & Strategic Origination
Lead research initiatives to map and qualify new acquisition targets across industries and geographies.
Support market analysis and research across portfolios.
Identify and fill gaps in prospect coverage using CRM and analytics.
Coordinate BD strategy for conferences and networking events, ensuring ROI on attendance.
Governance & Compliance
Act as a key resource on company policies and territory management across the team.
Monitor CRM data quality and usage to ensure high standards and compliance.
Liaise with operations and compliance teams to maintain policy alignment.
Qualifications:
4+ years of experience in SaaS Sales, Revenue Operations, Growth/GTM, or Corporate Development
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field (preferred)
Proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
Strong Excel skills and familiarity with analytical tools (e.g., SQL, Python, MS Access)
Excellent time management, organization, and strategic thinking
Strong communication and interpersonal skills—both written and verbal
Independent problem solver with a team-first mindset
Results-oriented, self-motivated, and flexible

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) is currently hiring to two positions on the Financial Planning and Analysis team: Accountant (Financial Planning and Budget) and Financial Planning Consultant. These positions are based out of TRU’s main campus in Kamloops, which features an abundance of green space and overlooks the North and South Thompson Rivers. Position Summary
The Accountant, Financial Planning and Budget, and Financial Planning Consultant roles play a pivotal role in managing the university's financial planning and budgeting as well as in helping senior leaders make informed decisions in the effective allocation of resources. As a member of the Finance team and reporting to the Manager, Financial Planning and Budget, the roles collaborate cross-functionally to provide financial services, budget planning and other related processes in support of academic and administrative leaders. The roles act as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of departments and provide comprehensive strategic and operational advice, guidance, and support in all facets of strategic resource planning in alignment with the university's mission, vision and values. The roles also work closely with the Financial Reporting team to provide advice to budget holders that correctly applies generally accepted accounting principles. In addition, their financial reports, forecasts, analytical reports, budgets, and variances will be essential in monitoring fund expenditures and financial reporting.
The difference between the two roles is that the Accountant role is an entry-level professional role that is suited for a qualified candidate with a lower level of experience. The Financial Planning Consultant is a mid-level professional role that is suited for a qualified candidate with more extensive and direct experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications
The ideal candidate holds a university degree in Business, Accounting or a related field, supplemented by a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and related experience in the budget and financial planning process, preferably in public administration. The ideal Accountant candidate also has a minimum of five years (seven years for the Financial Planning Consultant) of progressive accounting experience in a computerized environment.

The salary range for this position is $76,125 – $99,151, supplemented by a competitive total compensation package.
