About the Opportunity  
  • Under the guidance of the Internal Audit senior management, plan and execute assurance and advisory engagements, in alignment with IIA standards and internal audit policies and procedures. Responsibilities include:
  • Audit planning: Conduct pre-plan interviews, perform risk assessment (including completion of risk control matrix) prepare planning and engagement memo, and design audit programs.
  • Audit Execution: Conduct walkthroughs and perform detailed design and/or operational testing procedures.
  • Issue Identification & Alignment: Identify audit findings and observations and engage with management to discuss and align on key issues.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive audit reports summarizing results, findings, and actionable recommendations.
  • Follow up: Monitor and follow up with management to ensure timely implementation and validation of management remediation plans.
  • Presentations: Support senior manager in preparing presentations for senior leadership and audit committee.
  • Interact with management in all areas of the business as it relates to processes and internal controls.
  • Assist in the evaluation of the design and operating effectiveness of key business, financial, operational and technology controls.
  • Contributes to the development of the annual internal audit plan.
  • Identify opportunities for improvements in business processes and more efficient audit practices.
  • Assist where required with special reviews or projects.
  • Contribute to the training, professional development, and support of junior staff as well as management trainees/summer students/external partners.
  • Provide support to Finance in achieving company’s NI 52-109 (Bill 198) compliance program efforts.
  • Perform QA reviews on peers’ work to ensure it meets IIA standards and internal audit procedures.
  • Develop strong relationships with business teams.
  • Assist with other tasks as assigned by Internal Audit senior leaders.
  • Limited travel within Canada may be necessary. About You  
    • Minimum of 4 years' experience in an Audit/Internal Controls environment or a combination of accounting and auditing experience surrounding operational and financial controls.
    • CPA designation is required.
    • CIA designation is an asset.
    • Strong communication (written and verbal), analytical and documentation skills including experience with process flowcharting
    • Ability to work independently and in team settings with minimal supervision to deliver quality audit engagements within set timelines.
    • Strong time management, multi-tasking, and organization skills especially in high pressure environment, under tight deadlines.
    • SAP knowledge, data analytics, GRC applications and real estate experience would be an asset.
    Salary Range  
    $95,000 - $100,000/year

    • Manage investments

    • Experience in accounting / consolidation systems (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics, Yardi, JD Edwards, Hyperion, Cognos TM1, SQL, OneStream, etc.) and adaptability with learning new applications

      br>What we are looking for:   < r>  br>As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, you will become an integral member of the interprofessional team responsible for providing compassionate, patient and family centered care at Oak Valley Health (Markham Stouffville Hospital and Uxbridge Hospital).
      br>What you bring to the role:
    As a member of the corporate Respiratory Therapy Department, you will support both our Markham and Uxbridge Hospitals, primarily the Uxbridge Emergency Department. This role is a progressive approach where the scope of the RT is maximized and fully integrated into managing patient care along with the rest of the interprofessional team. The role will also provide some support to the Uxbridge Med/Surg inpatient unit for patients with respiratory care needs and in a critical care response capacity in a deteriorating patient scenario.
    Requirements include:  br>
    Current registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario and preferred membership to the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and/or the Respiratory Therapy Society of Ontario
    Minimum 1 year of RRT work experience in acute care
    Preference given to applicants holding recent experience and demonstrated competency in ICU and ED and who have demonstrated the ability to assess the patients response to care, respond appropriately, problem solve and set priorities
    Current BCLS, ACLS and NRP is mandatory; current PALS is preferred
    Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
    Demonstrates initiative and the ability to function both independently and as a multidisciplinary team member in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
    Proficient computer skills
    Demonstrated good attendance record and performance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
    Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with organization related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required

      br>Work Schedule:
    Successful applicants should be available to work any shift, 7.5 and 11.25hrs, Days and Nights, weekdays, weekends and holidays. Please note schedule may change due to operational needs < r>This position requires support to both the Markham site and the Uxbridge Site.  br>  br>Compensation:
