Your Opportunity:Are you passionate about supporting your community and interested in launching a career in Emergency Medical Services (EMS)? The EMS Cadet program is a unique, paid employment opportunity for individuals committed to becoming Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs). This transitional role is designed for those enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, an approved EMR training program. As an EMS Cadet, you’ll gain valuable hands-on experience embedded within a team of EMS professionals in Northern Alberta. You’ll learn by supporting station readiness, assisting with basic care tasks, and observing emergency response operations. The position includes tuition reimbursement and the opportunity to transition into a full-time EMR position upon successful completion of your training and provincial registration. This is a conditional offer of employment. Continued employment as an EMS Cadet is contingent upon enrollment in an approved EMR program within 12 weeks of hire, and successful completion of the program within 12 months. As a condition of participation in the EMS Cadet Program, a Return of Service Agreement is required. Upon successful completion of Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) training and registration with the Alberta College of Paramedics, you agree to accept and maintain employment in an EMR position within Alberta Health Services’ North Zone for a minimum period of twelve (12) consecutive months. This position must be equivalent to at least full-time equivalency (FTE) and may include eligibility for benefits. If you do not successfully complete the program, or if the Return of Service Agreement is not fulfilled, tuition repayment may be required. Successful candidates will be stationed within their home community in North Zone. For further details, please visit: Description: As an EMS Cadet, you will be part of a dedicated team focused on providing emergency medical services to individuals in need. Under the guidance of the attending EMS Primary Care or Advanced Care Paramedic, you will be assigned duties within an EMS station and on an ambulance. Your primary responsibility will be to support day-to-day EMS duties, including station and ambulance cleanliness, ordering and restocking supplies, and assisting with EMS fleet and vehicle operations, such as maintenance and the transportation of fleet and equipment. Additionally, you will participate as a 'Third-on-Car' supporting EMS crews with equipment and supply supports. Required Qualifications: Completion of grade 12 diploma or recognized equivalent.
Must be eligible to apply and be accepted into an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) program approved by the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) and must enroll within 12 weeks of hire and complete the program within 12 months.
Valid Alberta Class 5 Non-GDL Driver¿s Licence with less than three (3) demerit points.
Ability to apply for an Alberta Class 4 licence or equivalent.Additional Required Qualifications: Understanding of EMS team roles and patient care principles. Demonstrates professionalism, empathy, responsibility, and accountability. Excellent communication and time-management skills. Physically fit and capable of lifting/moving equipment. Available to work a rotating schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Able to obtain non-restricted registration as an EMR with the Alberta College of Paramedics after EMR graduation. Able to successfully complete all required qualifications of the EMR role, including but not limited to: Non-restricted registration in good standing with the Alberta College of Paramedics (ACOP) as Emergency Medical Responder (EMR). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Must be able to obtain a valid class 4 Alberta Operator License or equivalent. POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Administrator will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating various operational activities by maintaining office systems and supporting the daily operations of the local office and operations leadership team.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Project and Billing Management:

  • Support Project Managers and Superintendents with change orders, cost code updates, and project reporting
  • Manage progress billings for contract projects
  • Maintain and update master job list
  • Manage client purchase orders, ensuring accurate billing codes
  • Verify and maintain current rate schedules
  • Ensure all tickets and shop hours are billed and recorded accurately
  • Review purchase order log and submit third-party billing


Administrative and System Operations:

  • Complete and submit job forms; set up new projects in FieldCap
  • Develop and maintain job setups and rate schedules; approve tickets and upload vendor invoices in FieldCap
  • Process invoice requests and update in Vista
  • Enter invoices using Open Invoice and Open Ticket
  • Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve invoice issues
  • Support vendor invoice charge-outs
  • Assist with weekly payroll by reviewing and approving FieldCap tickets
  • Generate and review weekly reports, addressing outstanding issues


Office and Team Coordination:

  • Supervise receptionist and manage office logistics (e.g., shipping/receiving logs, phone/IT equipment lists)
  • Create weekly meeting agendas and take minutes
  • Maintain SharePoint user lists, documents, files, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with vendors for maintenance tasks (e.g., plumbing, electrical, lawn care)
  • Monitor various email accounts


Community and External Engagement:

  • Engage with local charities, and manage sponsorships
  • Support Indigenous community initiatives and maintain required reporting


Additional Responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties as assigned


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience in office administration
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant office support experience

SUMMIT , An Earth Services Company is seeking a highly motivated and experienced intermediate or senior level land reclamation and restoration professional to join the Reclamation, Remediation and Risk Management (RRRM) Division as an Environmental Specialist (Competition #25-06-0716) with a primary focus on Reclamation work scopes. This is a position that will be a combination of office and field duties. The successful applicant will ideally be based out of Grande Prairie or surrounding area(s).


Job Duties:


You will carry out your duties in consultation with RRRM Project Managers. The primary duties include but are not limited to:

  • Technical oversight, supervision, and mentoring on a variety of reclamation site assessments, wellsite, facility and pipeline surface reclamation assessment projects
  • Project planning, coordination, execution and management both in field and in the office
  • Field work including, but not limited to: vegetation monitoring assessments, Detailed Site Assessments, and tree plant program supervision coordination
  • Proficiency assessing forested soils/vegetation and peatland classification/vegetation
  • Supervision of third parties, field staff and office staff as required
  • Field and reporting experience with Phase I, II, and III ESA’s
  • Data interpretation, analysis and reporting
  • Budget preparation and control
  • Maintenance of client relationships
  • Third-party stakeholder interactions
  • Participation in company and client specific health and safety programs

You will be supported by the entire Summit organization which consists of a dynamic team of Professional Engineers, Geologists, Biologists, Chemists and Agrologists, technical administrators, business development and health and safety professionals, and an in-house IT department.


Qualifications:


  • University degree or diploma from a recognized institution with a specialty in environmental engineering, agrology, conservation and reclamation, or geoscience
  • Five to ten years of consulting or industry experience in environmental site assessment and reclamation
  • Registration, or eligibility for registration, with a relevant professional organization (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)
  • Professional designation or potential to obtain professional designation from a professional association in Alberta and Saskatchewan (e.g. APEGA, APEGS, AIA, ASPB)
  • Proficient with Alberta regulations and guidelines related to surface reclamation
  • Proficiency with both the Alberta 2010 Forested Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities and the Reclamation Criteria for Wellsites and Associated Facilities for Peatlands (2017)
  • Familiarity with BC restoration guidelines and best practices is an asset
  • Strong analytical and technical writing skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary project team environment
  • Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership and work independently
  • Excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills
