Engineer - ProcessThe Engineer - Process position will be responsible for determining the operations for fabrication and assembly of products by reviewing parts drawings, specifications, and other engineering data. Primarily accountable for planning, scheduling, conducting, or coordinating phases of major engineering projects in addition to developing sequence of operations, estimate time requirements for each, and prepare operation sheets.

Attend Advance Quality Planning meetings to finalize design of required fixtures and tooling. Interface with suppliers of raw material and tools to establish engineering requirements for start of production. Investigate and find resolution of specific processing problems for assigned projects and parts. Prepare quotations for new jobs, including material and processing costs, tooling, gauges and capital investment costs if required. Participate in productivity improvement investigations. Conduct time studies. Maintain ongoing process control through quality troubleshooting and process improvement investigation. Regular review of all processes and operator instructions for assigned customers to ensure accuracy and conformance to actual procedures. Collect data and develop statistics to describe equipment and system functionality. Estimate durations of development, fabrication, construction and repair tasks. Define which materials and equipment to use for projects and select appropriate codes. Complete work order and change work order forms to notify key parties about projects. Assume project management roles to co-ordinate the involvement of other engineers, contractors, technicians and suppliers. Credentials Post-Secondary education in Engineering or Equivalent. Minimum three years of related experience. Knowledge/work experience in machine processes, cutting tools, fixtures, CNC and Special purpose machines. Working knowledge of ISO-TS16949 and ISO 14001, and with mechanical blueprint interpretation including GD and T. Good computer skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience with the use of statistical analysis software and computer-assisted design, manufacturing and machining (. AutoCAD, CAD/CAM and SolidWorks). Desired Characteristics Able to interact with supervisors or managers and integrate work within teams of engineers and technicians to work on common projects. We are currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our HSIO Connector Engineering team. The position will be located at Toronto Canada.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position manages all technical and process control aspects, develop plans, coordinates, tracks, qualifies and implements assembly processes from conceptual design into functional assemblies that meet Amphenol cost, delivery, and capacity needs while meeting all customers’ requirements. Develop automated processes and monitor areas of continues improvement in quality, safety, cost, and efficiency including SMED, TPM (LEAN tools) and other tasks via a structured development process. Assist with costing, capital and capacity projections in preparation of financial justifications for new products in development and for product changes or extensions. Complete process development deliverables including PFMEA’s, Process Qualification Plan, Control Plans, Workmanship standards and DOE’s related to process development.

Coordinate with internal & external vendors the fabrication of prototype samples, tooling and equipment to meet schedules
Involved in the analysis of defined risk areas and experimentation, detailed design and analysis, DOE, basic technology research and development.
Develop and document assembly processes, which include process sheets, operating procedures, spare parts lists, and preventative maintenance plan.
Provide training, guidance and support to production and specialized personnel as necessary
Participate in team meetings to inform progress on project and customer driven deliverables (such as samples or qualification reports).
Interface with vendor on new automated equipment development.
Work closely with operations in defining operations plans capacity plan, time study, takt time, line balance, flow diagram, line lay-out, work instructions, workmanship standards, control and inspection plans and other manufacturing documentation.
Work with manufacturing team to develop capacity and cost reduction plans for high volume efficiency, product cost reductions and capacity planning.
Travel both domestically and internationally will be required.
Participate on customer meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline preferably; Electro-mechanical, Mechanical or eight years’ experience in a process engineering role. < r> A ility to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in each region of the world.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Should have knowledge and skills using:

We are seeking motivated self-starters and team contributors with 5+ years of progressive engineering experience within an EPCM / industrial plant environment to join our team.
