Description De L'emploi
Durabuilt Windows and Doors is looking for a seasoned Product Development Manager to champion the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the stage-gate product development process. This is a foundational role that will define how we bring products to life—from idea to prototype to launch and beyond. You will be the central facilitator, connector, and executor of this cross-functional process—ensuring clarity, accountability, and momentum at every stage to ensure we get our innovative ideas to market.
Whether the initiative is a brand-new in-house innovation, a pass-through product, or a change to an existing offering, this role is responsible for ensuring the right people are engaged at the right time, the right decisions are made, and that the process flows with discipline and efficiency. You’ll lead the implementation of our product development framework, codify documentation and stage objectives, and act as the internal owner of the entire product development lifecycle.
This role is ideal for someone with deep experience in project and product management, who thrives in ambiguity, communicates with influence, and brings structure to complexity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Product Development Process Implementation
• Own the full implementation of Durabuilt’s new stage-gate product development process (idea → concept → prototype → build/execute → launch → post-launch)
• Define and document stage-specific objectives, stakeholders, decision points, and success metrics
• Champion process discipline across teams and projects
Facilitate Cross-Functional Alignment
• Act as the primary facilitator across sales, marketing, R&D, operations (production, maintenance, quality, service, installation, continuous improvement and others), and leadership teams
• Lead key product development meetings, ensuring each stage has clear inputs, owners, and expected outputs
• Create visibility and accountability across teams to maintain progress
Manage Product Pipeline & Project Execution
• Maintain a master tracker of all active product initiatives (new, pass-through, enhancements, etc.)
• Ensure projects move smoothly through gates, resolving bottlenecks and risks proactively
• Coordinate resource needs and timelines across teams to ensure realistic execution
Drive Market and Customer Insight
• Own all competitive and market intelligence across all product lines
• Work with Sales to conduct competitor benchmarking, market research, customer interviews, and product comparisons
• Translate insights into actionable inputs for product design, configuration, and messaging
• Partner with Marketing on product positioning, go-to-market strategies, and value propositions • Own customer feedback loops before and after launch
• Lead all product research and insights
Optimize and Govern the System
• Build and refine documentation templates, dashboards, reporting cadences, and workflows
• Track KPIs and process performance, and lead retrospectives to improve stage-gate effectiveness
Support Strategic Product Management
• Partner with leadership to assess product ideas and prioritize development efforts
• Contribute to long-term product planning, identifying gaps or inefficiencies in how product ideas are surfaced and validated
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
• 8+ years of experience in product development, project management, or product operations—preferably in construction, manufacturing, building materials, or related industries
• Proven record of implementing or owning a stage-gate or structured product development process
• Strong facilitation and communication skills—you are confident leading cross-functional meetings, aligning stakeholders, facilitating consensus and influencing without authority
• Detail-oriented and systems-minded—able to design and manage processes that scale across teams and timeframes
• Deep sense of market awareness—you naturally keep a pulse on industry trends, competitor actions, and customer pain points
• Experience conducting and interpreting customer research, competitive analysis, and product benchmarking
• Proficiency with project management tools, process documentation, and collaboration platforms (e.g., Microsoft Project, Jira, Miro, PLM Tools, etc.)
• Experience with physical product development (including engineering, prototyping, or manufacturing environments) is an asset.
• Bonus: Exposure to product management frameworks (e.g., product lifecycle, portfolio planning, SKU rationalization)
