In this role, you will leverage your skills in software and data engineering to turn data from our SaaS platform into intelligence and actionable insight for our customers. Your work will help revolutionize the use of data at Achievers, delivering intelligent services that change the way work is done. What you'll do:Design, develop, and maintain backend services that support reporting, analytics, data export, and data-driven product features Collaborate closely with product, data, and engineering teams to deliver actionable insights and AI-powered features that enhance user experience and decision-making Design and implement well-structured APIs to integrate with internal and external BI tools (, Looker, Tableau, Power BI) Apply strong data modeling and transformation techniques to support dimensional analytics and interactive visualizations Ensure data quality, governance, privacy, and compliance standards are met across all systems Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture planning Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers Continuously research and experiment with new tools, frameworks, and technologies to drive innovation and efficiency Contribute to agile development cycles, including sprint planning, estimation, and retrospectives What we're looking for:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field 5+ years of backend software engineering experience in enterprise environments, with a focus on reporting, analytics, and data-driven features such as data export and insights Strong understanding of analytics fundamentals, including dimensional data modeling, data transformation, and data visualization best practices Experience with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and cloud-based data warehousing (preferably Google BigQuery) Proficient in server-side programming languages such as Python, PHP, or Go Solid experience with relational and NoSQL databases (, MySQL, MongoDB), including schema design, data modeling, and performance tuning Familiarity with streaming or near real-time data ingestion technologies (, Kafka, Pub/Sub) Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration with BI and analytics tools (, Looker, Tableau, Power BI) Proficient with data serialization formats such as JSON, CSV Knowledge of data privacy, security, and governance best practices Experience with agile software development methodologies (, Scrum, Kanban) Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and code quality Proactive in exploring and adopting new technologies, frameworks, and APIs Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English Experience integrating applications with AI/ML systems is a plus Why you’ll love working at Achievers: We are passionate about disruptive technology that’s rooted in science, research and data. This includes the periodic consolidation, preparation of published quarterly and annual financial statements and MD&A as well as financial accounting, periodic management reporting, annual budgets, forecasts and three-year plans.This position provides insightful analysis to senior management and the Board of Directors with regards to the consolidation of the various business units.Responsibilities:Prepare consolidation entries and support the Company's periodic consolidation process;Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual shareholder reports, including MD&A and financial statement notes as well as the preparation of working papers and supporting documentation;Prepare legal entity and other financial statements, as required;Assist in the annual GWL consolidated budget and three year plan process;Prepare various quarterly consolidated reports to senior management and Board of Directors;Prepare analysis of periodic results to senior management providing insightful commentary and variance analysis of results;Review periodic and quarterly divisional submissions, including continuity and other supplemental schedules;Prepare system-generated reports and use other analytical tools to aid in internal and external reporting requirements; andAd-hoc projects as required.Qualifications: Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is requiredStrong proficiency in Excel and PowerPointSelf-starter who works well in a team as well as with minimal supervisionExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenQuality driven and detail orientedKnowledge of financial accounting processes, policies, controls and systemsStrong business acumen, with an ability to focus on continuous improvementGood problem solving, analytical and conceptual skills; can see the "big picture" in a complex environmentExposure to public company reporting environment would be an assetProficiency in D365, SAP, Hyperion Financial Management and Smartview would be an asset, but not requiredWHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?
