Your Contribution to Our Growth
We are seeking our very first Technical Writer to join our team in Toronto to own product documentation to enhance our clients' understanding of our software and improve their API integration experience. You will play a central role in creating comprehensive and user-friendly documentation for our platform, focusing on crypto trading, payments, and our B2B2C retail brokerage solution.
You will collaborate closely with client services, software developers, product managers, and other technical teams to gather essential information and ensure clarity and accuracy in all documentation. Your responsibilities will include creating and maintaining user manuals, API documentation, onboarding materials, and release notes, all intended to empower our clients to integrate seamlessly using REST APIs, websockets and webhooks. By prioritizing user and developer experience and gathering feedback, you will help enhance the quality and accessibility of our documentation, and ease of product integration. We're seeking experience in the payments, trading, and/or brokerage space.

What You’ll Do
- Create, edit, and maintain user manuals, API documentation, integration guides, and other technical documentation for our crypto trading, payments, and B2B2C retail brokerage platforms.
- Produce clear and comprehensive documentation for our REST APIs, websockets and webhooks, ensuring that developers can seamlessly integrate with our platform. Include code samples, error responses, and Postman collections.
- Develop onboarding materials and training resources to assist clients in integrating and utilizing our platform effectively.
- Work closely with software developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather detailed technical information and ensure accuracy and clarity in documentation.
- Conduct usability testing of documentation and gather user feedback to continuously improve content quality and usability.
- Document software updates, new features, and bug fixes in clear, user-friendly language to keep clients informed of changes to the platform.
- Maintain and expand a knowledge base for clients, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and relevant information.
We’d Love to See
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in technical writing, preferably in the fintech sector.
- Proven track record as a Technical Writer in a technology-driven environment, ideally covering trading and payments use cases.
- Proficiency in writing, documenting and testing REST APIs.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences through clear and simple content.
- Experience with content management systems such as GitBook, Confluence, or similar systems and graphic design tools for creating visual documentation.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and support.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to empathize with end-users and create content that enhances their experience and understanding of the product.
