We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Production Supervisor to lead manufacturing operations in a unionized environment .
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in supervising hourly employees and fostering a safe and efficient work environment.
This role will also play a key part in our Health & Safety Committee , helping to drive compliance and continuous improvement in workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production employees in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
Ensure all production targets, quality standards, and delivery timelines are met.
Maintain strict adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
Actively participate in and contribute to the Health & Safety Committee , identifying and addressing potential hazards and supporting safety initiatives.
Monitor and improve safety performance metrics, conduct incident investigations, and support corrective action implementation.
Resolve personnel issues in partnership with Human Resources and union representatives, ensuring compliance with labor contracts and policies.
Train and coach employees on job duties, safety protocols, and operational best practices.
Monitor material usage, minimize waste, and ensure optimal equipment utilization.
Lead daily production meetings and maintain clear communication between shifts.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles.
Qualifications: 3+ years of supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment .
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations (OSHA or equivalent) and active participation in safety committees.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to a dynamic environment.
Proficiency in MS Office and manufacturing software (ERP/MES systems preferred).
Preferred: OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training.
Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma training/certification.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in industrial management, Engineering, or a related field.
Working Conditions: Fast-paced manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
Regular walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Availability to work off-shifts or weekends as needed.
